Xtra Happy Gizzard's earlier albums are pure punky punchy surf rock blended bliss that promise to leave you singing "footy foot-ey, FOOTY FOOTY FOOTY FOOTY!" for a long while. All this energy is on full display on 12 Bar Bruise with each track short and to the point. The track 'Sam Cherry's Last Shot' may be a little out of place here, grinding the album to a bit of a halt (in hindsight maybe it should've been a Single A-Side) but as an Eyes Like The Sky fanboy, I can hardly complain hearing its precursor. Favorite track: Uh Oh, I Called Mum.

mine_menace Pure, raw, garage rock, and every second of it is brilliant! Favorite track: Elbow.

sebas_0132 one of the most powerful Gizz albums, full of killer riffs and garage-psychedelic vibes ready to slam anything, and its only their debut album! Favorite track: Elbow.
